Nothing too much out of the ordinary has happened since my last blog. I am primarily posting just to let you know we're still here in Kenya, having completed 7 1/2 weeks in residence. We are approximately half way through our scheduled time to be here.
At the risk of boring any of you with more of my photos of beautiful blooms on campus, please bear with me one more time as I post them to this blog. I hope you enjoy seeing them as much as I do!

Last weekend Mary's husband, Duane, finally arrived for his visit. To welcome him I made apple crisp (which Mary assured me that he would thoroughly enjoy), and invited the American ANU contingency over to our flat on Sunday evening to help us eat. Everyone graciously consented to letting me "capture" the event by taking a picture.

I meant to get one "candid" shot while we were all eating the dessert, but I forgot. I think I was too busy eating as well! At any rate, we all had a good time eating and conversing. The newest member of our group is Cody (an SNU graduate and associated with the Morningstar Institute at SNU). He arrived in Nairobi just a couple of weeks ago.
This Thursday, the 20th, is a national holiday in Kenya called "Mashujaa Day" (Heroes' Day). As a result, classes are cancelled. Lee is giving a test on Friday which will be proctored by someone else, so we are taking advantage of the "long" weekend to make a trip to the East Africa coast along the Indian Ocean. We are flying out (on a commercial plane, of course!) on Friday morning. We have made reservations at one of the resorts along the coast. According to people who have traveled to the coast, we will be appreciating very good food and accommodations in addition to the ocean breezes and white sands of the beaches. We are looking forward to this change of pace since we haven't been out of the Nairobi city area since our arrival. We will definitely be blogging about our trip either while we're there or certainly upon our return. Keep watching for our posts.........
