Schwarzwald

OK time for a quiz.  (language, not math)
Question 1:  What does the title of this post mean in English?
Question 2:  How is the word pronounced in German?

Answers:  at the bottom of the post.  You didn't think that I would give you the answers immediately did you?

We traveled to Triberg, Germany today.  It is one of the centers of the cuckoo clock business.  So we decided to support the local industry.  Since we had to have it shipped, we don't have any pictures of the one we bought but here is the cuckoo clock on the outside of the store.
Check out the cute girl in the lower right of the picture.
From there we drove to Titisee, on the shores of Titisee.  To call the lake, "Lake Titisee" is to call it a lake twice.  So here is a picture of Titisee from the road in Titisee:

And those are thunderclouds in the distance.  They did not keep their distance, however.  Within 15 minutes of taking this picture, we were driven into a store just a few feet away.  After 10 minutes, we were back outside, having added two chocolate bars to our load.

One final comment today:  This was the first day I have been frustrated while driving.  Since there are not autobahns in this part (thought I would forget and tell you what part of Germany we were in and give away the answer to question #1, didn't you) of Germany, we traveled home on "B" highways.  These are somewhat limited access, going around most villages and small towns.  But they are only two lanes.  And unlike the autobahns, they were constructed by following the contours of the land.  So there are lots of twists and hills.  So the problem:  semis travel these roads as much as the autobahns, maybe more.  No sooner did I get around one truck, but there was another not far ahead, trailing a string of cars behind.  For one who likes to "drive", this was very frustrating.

OK, you have waited long enough, so I will give you the answers.  But first the grade scale:
       2 correct - A
       1 correct - C
0 correct - F  (Nobody said I was an easy grader)
1.  Black Forest

2.  schvatz-vite

I will let you record your grade in the comments.  Here is a photo of a valley in the Schwarzwald:
