Actually, we are home now, but since I want to write about our trip home, I titled this post as if we are in transit. First, I thought I would post a few photos I took while Marilyn and I made a final walk around the campus. The route was one that we took at least 5 times a week, usually in the early evening, either just before or after supper. So here is what we saw:
| Walking down the path to the "old" New Chapel |
| Walking past the "old" New Chapel |
| Approaching the women's dorm |
| Walking past the "duka", a popular student hangout |
| Heading past the maintenance buildings |
| Looking at the duplex where our friends Anne and Tim lived |
| Going down the hill toward the W & W building |
| Going downhill always means you have to go back up |
| At least the scenery on the climb is pretty |
| A long road ahead |
| Sometimes we can't see around the next bend in the road |
| Just keep going |
| Will the twists never end? |
| Down the walk in front of the library building, where my office was located |
| On the walk from the library building to the administration building |
| Heading back to the flat |
| Made it back |
With the final tour of campus completed, here are a few of the people we saw along the way:
| With Mary, the one who helped us with our flat |
With Michael, the head of transportation, who did his best to get us
where ever we wanted to go |
| Steve, one of our regular drivers |
With Teresa, one of security staff, who greeted us with a
smile whenever we went through the gate |
| With Roland, our "son" in Africa |
More about the actual trip home later.
